A new beginning!

2010 has been different already. I became an American citizen last November after having waited way too long to do so. But I wanted to make sure that it was the right thing to do and that I would be able to do the things that go with being an American such as voting, being on jury duty and become involved in the party of my choice. What a wonderful feeling it has been. I have had so much support from friends, family and neighbors.
I feel I am like a cat with 9 lives. Having been born in a Japanese concentration camp (2 months prematurely at that) and barely surviving more than 3 years under the most cruel conditions, everybody is surprised that I am still alive and doing so well approaching 70 in just a few years. I actually have been close to death way more than 9 times. I don't dwell on it too much but thought that I would put this in my blog as most people I know don't know this about me.
I will keep you posted on what is going on with me and my husband on a regular basis.
